I received a request to do a post on fall colors. What better place to turn for a full rundown of the seasons colors than the Pantone color report. I look forward to downloading the report each season. It gives you a peek into how fashion, home decor and other creative art forms all intertwine. I love the embrace of the monochromatic look. I tend lean towards a more neutral color palette. I fancy hues of gray, blush and burgundy and of course black & white. I am enjoying Pantones neutral approach to color this fall.
Who is TED? And why should you be listening to him? If you haven’t heard of TED Talks then that may be what you are thinking. Simply put TED shares ideas. On their website they describe their mission “TED is a non profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short powerful talks”. And powerful is an understatement. TED is filled with inspiring powerful messages. Any topic that you can fathom there is most likely a TED talk about.
You know that Flawless song by Beyoncé that we all love. “I woke up like this”. On the song there are excerpts from Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie about Feminism. What you may not know is those excerpts were taken from a talk that Chimamanda did for TEDx titled “We should all be feminist”, she also has a book bearing the same name. Just last week, Adichie won the ‘Best of the Best’ honor from the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction for her novel Half of a Yellow Sun. The novel was adapted into a film by the same name in 2013. Check out her no holds barred talk about Feminism below.
